Moulding & Trim
Baseboard, door and window casing, crown, chair rail, picture-frame, and aprons, from simple profiles to multi-piece built-up assemblies. This is the work we run the most of. We cope the inside corners instead of mitering them, glue and pin the outside returns, and account for the wood moving with the seasons, so the joints hold through a Tennessee winter.

What We Handle
The scope, spelled out.
Here’s what falls under moulding & trim on a typical job. Anything outside it gets called out in the bid.
- Baseboard and shoe in every profile
- Door and window casing, aprons, and stools
- Single-piece and built-up crown molding
- Chair rail, picture-frame, and panel moulding
- Coped inside corners and mitered returns
- Stain-grade and paint-grade installation
- Whole-house trim-out packages
- Caulk-ready, punch-light joints
In Detail
What goes into moulding & trim.
Trim runs everywhere a hand lands, and an open joint is the callback that comes back most, so we cope and glue the whole package and fasten it into framing. What that covers:
Baseboard & shoe
Base in every profile, scaled to the ceiling, with shoe or quarter-round over hard flooring. (See baseboard styles and heights.)
Door & window casing
Casing wrapped clean around every opening, mitered or butted to match the house, with stool-and-apron or picture-frame at the windows. (See casing styles and how to trim a window.)
Crown & built-up cornice
Single-piece crown through tall built-up cornices stacked from several profiles, scaled to the room. (See crown molding profiles.)
Chair rail & panel moulding
Chair rail, picture-frame, and panel moulding to break up and dress a wall. (The full vocabulary is in our types of trim & moulding guide.)
Why it matters to your schedule
Trim runs everywhere a hand lands, and an open joint is the finish callback that comes back the most. We cope the corners, glue the returns, and fasten into framing instead of just drywall, so nothing works loose and the joints stay closed after we leave.
