Cabinet Installation

Hand us the cabinet package and we'll set it. Dunn Trim Co. installs modular and custom cabinetry for builders across East Tennessee: kitchens, baths, laundry, butler's pantries, and mudroom lockers. We cast a level line around each room, set the runs to it, and scribe the fillers and panels tight to walls that are never quite straight, so the doors and drawers line up when we're done.

What We Handle

The scope, spelled out.

Here’s what falls under cabinets on a typical job. Anything outside it gets called out in the bid.

  • Modular and custom cabinet setting
  • Kitchens, islands, and full-height pantry runs
  • Bath and powder-room vanities
  • Laundry, mudroom lockers, and built-in benches
  • Filler, scribe, and panel work to walls and ceilings
  • Crown, light rail, and toe-kick detailing
  • Knob, pull, and hardware installation
  • Counter-ready leveling and shimming for the fabricator

In Detail

What goes into cabinets.

Cabinet setting is the heavy part of finish carpentry, and we install the whole package, modular and custom, in every room that takes a cabinet.

Kitchens & islands

Perimeter runs and islands set to the level line, shimmed plumb, and scribed counter-ready, with the crown, light rail, and toe-kick detailed so template day goes clean. Most of the look comes down to the door style and overlay. See cabinet door styles & overlays.

Vanities & baths

Powder-room and primary-bath vanities set flush to walls that are never quite square, with filler and panel work scribed tight.

Pantries, laundry & mudrooms

Full-height pantry runs, laundry cabinetry, and mudroom lockers and benches built to take daily use. (See mudroom built-ins.)

Stock, modular & custom

We set modular, stock, and custom cabinetry the same way. The box is different from one job to the next; the install runs the same. (More in RTA vs. semi-custom vs. custom and cabinet install day prep.)

Why it matters to your schedule

The cabinets are what a client opens every day, so a run that's out of level or a door that doesn't sit right gets noticed fast. We set them plumb and flush and leave them counter-ready, so when the fabricator shows up to template, he's measuring off a flat, square job and the schedule holds.

Questions

Cabinets questions, answered.

Install only. You or your builder order the cabinets and we set them — we don't supply the boxes, so there's no product markup coming from us. Hand us the package and the plans and we'll bid the labor line by line.
