Set off the floor high point, scribed to the wall

Setting a run right starts at the floor. We shoot the whole run for its high point and set every cabinet off that line, shimming down to it so the countertop templates flat and the toe-kick reads level. Uppers hang to a snapped level line, so a long Farragut wall carries its crown straight end to end. Fillers and finished end panels get scribed to the wall, because the walls in a custom home are never quite square, and a filler cut straight leaves a gap a client finds with one look down the cabinet line. From there we fasten into the studs, not just the drywall, and draw the boxes tight and coplanar so the face frames form one flat plane for the counter fabricator. Last comes the six-way hinge and slide adjustment down the whole run: every door reveal even, every drawer face aligned, every gap consistent top to bottom.

Builder-, homeowner-, or shop-supplied

We install builder-supplied, homeowner-supplied, and RTA cabinets to the same standard. RTA gets assembled square and clamped before it touches a wall. Homeowner-supplied orders get checked against the packing list the day they land, so a missing filler or the wrong panel doesn't stall install day, which is the thinking we lay out in our field note on installing homeowner-supplied cabinets. We also set for interior designers and cabinet shops that need a dependable hanging crew. We install and we don't design, so a homeowner who needs the design side handled gets routed to a design partner, and the install stays with us.
