Trim takeoff calculator

Enter your rooms, get linear feet of baseboard, crown, and casing — with a waste factor and a stock-length count. Free, no email, built by a finish crew that does this all day.

Assumptions — tweak to match your job

Your takeoff

236 LF to order

214 LF measured + 10% waste

  • Baseboard

    66 LF measured

    73 LF

    ~5 × 16′

  • Crown

    72 LF measured

    79 LF

    ~5 × 16′

  • Casing

    76 LF measured

    84 LF

    ~6 × 16′

An estimate for planning a takeoff — always confirm against your actual plans and field measurements before ordering. Crown runs the full perimeter; baseboard is reduced by your door openings; casing uses the per-opening figures above.

How it counts

Three scopes, counted the way we bid.

Baseboard, crown, and casing each measure differently. Here’s the logic behind the numbers — the same way we’d run a takeoff off your plans.

Baseboard

Runs the room's perimeter, less the door openings — base dies into the casing, it doesn't cross a doorway. We subtract your door-deduction width per door.

Crown

Runs the full perimeter, uncut by doors and windows. The ceiling line is continuous, so crown is the cleanest of the three to count.

Casing

Counted per opening, not by wall. A three-sided door wrap and a four-sided window each carry a rule-of-thumb linear foot figure you can tune to your profile and opening sizes.

Questions

About the calculator.

It works room by room. For each room it takes the perimeter from your length and width, runs crown the full way around, reduces baseboard by your door openings, and counts casing per door and window. It then adds your waste factor and divides by your stock length to suggest how many sticks to order.

Rather we just bid it?

Send the plans and the finish schedule — we'll bid the scope itemized and tell you exactly what we'll own. Serving builders across East Tennessee.
